Fun Facts: I'm obsessed with all things Disney. I love to travel — some favorite places being Greece, Italy & Hawaii. I absolutely adore my fur-nephew, Seth. I eat ice cream every day. I'm glued to the Food Network & always cooking up new recipes. I'm happily married & recently purchased a fixer upper, it's been a work in progress to say the least.

Hi! I’m Dani. You can call me Dani or Dani Lou, named affectionately after my late grandpa, Lucito.

I started my beauty career in high school through a cosmetology trade program at the Technology Center of DuPage from 2003-2004. I furthered my makeup education at the highly esteemed Makeup Forever Academy in 2017 & attended The Master Class by Mario Dedivanovic in 2019 (Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist).

I specialize in natural, neutral, soft glam & my mantra is “beauty that lets YOU shine through". I'm a LGBTQ-friendly space & have products for all skin tones & types. In a filtered world, I like to remind my clients that acne, skin texture & fine lines are normal. I use makeup as a tool to enhance your already beautiful features, so you still look & feel like yourself, just better.

My favorite part of my job is meeting so many wonderful people, seeing my clients' reaction when they look in the mirror & working with creative friends I’ve made along the way.

I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work with brands such as EcoTools, Nudestix & Tower 28 & do makeup for Broadway Chicago's cast of Hamilton.

With my years of experience, I will help create the makeup look you envisioned & make your special day run as smoothly as possible.

xo,

Covid-19

Protocol

Your safety is my #1 priority. That's why:

• I require up-to-date Covid vaccines or a negative Covid test.
• I request a separate room or area for makeup.
• I take temperatures & provide hand sanitizer upon sitting in my chair.
• I continue to wear a face mask.
• I provide a clean brush set for each client.
• I spend hours disinfecting my kit after each job.

I would hate for anyone to get sick on my watch, or chance missing out on doing anyone’s makeup.

We’re all in this together! So let’s continue to keep each other safe.

FAQ SECTION

What's not in my kit is the better question?! Some of my favorite brands I use are: Make Up For Ever, Temptu, Becca Cosmetics, Rare Beauty, NARS, Nudestix, Charlotte Tilbury, Fenty Beauty, MAC, Tarte, Laura Mercier, Ben NYE, Makeup by Mario, Patrick Ta Beauty, Dior, Givenchy, Summer Fridays, Laneige, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Honest Beauty, Urban Decay, Glam Glow & First Aid Beauty.

I offer both traditional & airbrush foundation application. Traditional is applied with a brush. Airbrush is sprayed onto the face using an airbrush gun. Both methods create an equally flawless & long lasting finish, depending on your skin type. Everyone has different skin types & needs, so it’s important to use the application that best suits you. Upon seeing your skin type & needs, I can let you know which application I suggest. There is no "one size fits all” when it comes to makeup.

Yes. A base fee of $50 will be charged for on-site services + $1/mile to & from my home studio in Skokie + any parking expenses.

For weddings, I have a 3 person minimum. For parties of 6+ I will need to bring an assistant & require a 4 person minimum per artist.

To schedule your preview & reserve your wedding date on my calendar, a non-refundable $200 retainer & signed service agreements are required. The retainer will be applied to the total services.

Previews are required for the celebrant, which is included in the celebrant package. All other previews are $150 each.

Previews should be booked 2-3 months before the event. I offer previews on weekdays between 10am-4pm. The earlier in the day, the better, so you can see how the makeup wears throughout the day.

Your preview is the day to test out the makeup up look you're envisioning. Previews typically take 60-90min. Anything over 90min will be charged my hourly rate of $125/hr. It's helpful to come with a photo of how you typically where your makeup & a look you have in mind. We will use the look you have in mind as inspiration, but will apply what's best for your own skin type & face structure. I will send a more in depth preview guide once we have a date on the calendar.

I'm located in Skokie, IL. If  you are traveling to me, I will provide you with my address/parking instructions, upon booking.

A $200 non-refundable retainer is due at booking. Payment in full is required 3 days prior to your event. Payment can be squared away via QuickPay/Zelle, or Venmo. If each person is paying for themselves, please collect their payment beforehand & have it all in one transaction. This makes for a more pleasant, stress-free experience.

Gratuity is not required, but always appreciated for excellent service. Industry standard is 18-20% of the service, just like in a beauty salon. QuickPay/Zelle, Venmo & Cash are accepted for gratuity the day of the wedding.

I can accommodate 6 people max on my own, any more & I need to bring an assistant. With that said, if you're planning on having 6+ people, I need to know the final headcount at booking, so I have ample time to secure an assistant (&cannot guarantee one). Should your timeline & party be large enough to require an additional artist, one will be provided for a one-time fee of $100 + travel/parking. To book an assistant, I have a 4 person minimum per artist.

It is ideal to set up in a spacious spot with good natural light (preferably in front of a big window). Please make sure the room has an outlet nearby to plug in lighting & a table or chair that can be moved to put extra equipment on. 68 degrees or lower is an ideal temperature for the room. You'll want the room to be very cool for makeup & hair. I will provide my own makeup chair.

Most appointments take 45-60min. I like to allow 60min for the celebrant, 45min for the wedding party, 15min for set up & 15min for touch ups. It's better to have some wiggle room than not enough time.

In my experience, it's best to have the celebrant to go at the middle to end of the timeline, but not first or last. I will help you create a schedule once I know the headcount & time you need to be ready by.

The makeup application & long-lasting products are meant to wear through sweat & happy tears. Make sure to dab with tissues as the happy tears are coming out, not wiping as they roll down your face. You may need to touch up your lips, under eyes & any oily areas throughout the day. I recommend purchasing a similar lip color to what we use at your preview. Have concealer, setting powder, lash glue, q-tips & tissue on-hand - in case of emergency 😉

You may add & subtract people up to the week of the event, as timing allows. The 3-4 person minimum per artist will still apply. Once final payment is received, no more changes may be made. Refunds will not be made if anyone cancels the day of the event, but you can put someone in place of their service.

If the client needs to cancel 30 days before the event date, the client is responsible for 50% payment of the contracted service total. If the client needs to cancel 48 hours before the event date, the client is responsible for 100% payment of the contracted service total. In the event where Dani or her artist/s cannot perform the agreed upon services due to unforeseen circumstances or reasons beyond their control, the client's retainer will be returned & efforts will be made to assist the client in finding a replacement for the event — with the understanding that there will be no further liability with respect to this service agreement.

• Please bring proof of up-to-date Covid vaccination or a negative Covid test the day of the wedding (at-home tests are acceptable).
• Drink as much water as you can the week leading up to the big day.
• Each person should arrive at least 15min prior to their scheduled time. A $25 late fee will be incurred for every 15min a person is late. If someone is late, I can’t guarantee the group will be finished on time.
• Come with clean, moisturized faces. No mascara, no eyeliner.
• Lashes are included with each application.
• Wear garments you can easily remove without disrupting your makeup.
• Bring straws for everyone to drink from after their makeup.
• 68 degrees or lower is an ideal temperature for the room. You'll want the room to be very cool for makeup & hair.
• I'll need to set up in a spacious spot with good natural light (preferably in front of a big window).
• Please make sure the room has an outlet nearby to plug in lighting & a table or chair that can be moved to put extra equipment on.
• Please refrain from eating, talking on your phone & turning around while in the makeup chair.
• I often ask to take before & after photos to use on my social media/website, if anyone in the party does not want me to do so, please let me know in advance.
• Remember to bring lipstick, concealer & setting powder for touch-ups. It's also good to have tissues, q-tips & lash glue on-hand.

Listed below are the safety precautions I have in place right now (subject to change as we receive more guidelines from the city/state).

• For those getting makeup done, I require up-to-date Covid vaccines or a negative Covid test the day of the wedding (at-home tests are acceptable).

• I will need you to provide a separate room or area for makeup, so we aren't all hanging out/getting ready on top of each other.

• If your temperature exceeds 100.4, I will not be able to do your makeup.

• I will need each person getting their makeup done to have a freshly washed face & I will provide hand sanitizer prior to sitting in the chair.

• I will be wearing a face mask.
• I will be using sanitized makeup & brushes for each person.
• Food & drink will not be allowed in the chair.
• If anyone getting their makeup done is not feeling well, I ask that they do their own makeup.
• I reserve the right to refuse services if you can't comply with this policy.
• Contactless payment will be required 3 days prior to your wedding date. You have the option of using QuickPay/Zelle, or Venmo.
• If you need to postpone your wedding due to unforeseen circumstances or reasons beyond your control, the $200 retainer is non-refundable, but can be transferred to a future date. If you choose a future date that I'm unavailable, the retainer is not refundable.
